New homes and nursery on schedule for September

Jon Davies writes:

On Wednesday I was pleased to accompany council leader Lib Peck, fellow ward candidate Cllr. Joanne Simpson and Labour’s Shadow Housing Spokesperson John Healey around the new homes and nursery being built on Lollard Street (behind the Texaco garage).

The development will include a huge new nursery and Children’s Centre for Ethelred Nursery and new homes of which 70 will be at council rent.

Here is Joanne pointing something out to Cllr. Matthew Bennet Lambeth’s Cabinet Member for Planning, Regeneration and Jobs – begging a caption contest?

Lambeth is a borough that doesn’t just talk about the need for social housing – it does it and with a Labour Government could do so much more.

Inside one of the four bedroom flats that will be at council rent.

Thanks to Scott and his team for letting us tramp around their building site and disrupt some of the 140 workers!
