Getting a grip in the ward

From Councillor Jon Davies.

I wandered into Cabanel Place, off Lollard Street yesterday on case work but chanced upon VauxWall East Climbing Centre in what used to be the Lilian Baylis Assembly Hall.

The manager showed me around and I took some photos in case you too were curious.

This is an alternative to the gym for people who don’t like the treadmill routine, (I can recommend a glass of wine and a darkened room personally) and want to forget work by concentrating on not falling from modest heights, albeit it onto padded mats.

There are special deals for locals and the centre wants to encourage secondary schools in the area to visit.
